Summertime

The summers of my youth have come and gone;

The innocence of childhood a fading memory.

Streaks of silver tell my story;

A life fully lived.

My life’s journey is progressing;

Winding its way along an invisible path.

An unseen hand guiding me towards my final destination;

And only the One knows how it will end.

*Another one of Mama Kat’s Writer’s Workshop prompts (love her workshop).  This week’s assignment was to write about poem about a picture.  I can’t remember the last time I wrote a poem, I guess it was probably back in high school, and that was 15+ years ago.  I was never into writing poetry, or fiction, yet I love to read both genres.

  1. I enjoyed your two poems. I would love to read more! I have recently discovered the joy of expressing myself in poetic form as well. I enjoyed poking around on your blog. In the last couple of years I have tried to move my family into more healthy, organic eating. It gets expensive at times, but it’s well worth the effort and extra expense when it comes to health and just feeling better! You are what you eat. So it’s best to eat well!

    • Thank you Mandy! You’re too kind. ;)

      Don’t you feel a lot better? It’s amazing how little changes can make a huge difference in the way we feel. I wish more people would realize that eating well isn’t as difficult as it seems. It can be done, and on a very tight budget too. That’s my aim with this blog, to help others realize that very fact. ;)

      Thanks for the visit, and for taking the time to leave such a lovely comment! ;)

  2. Stopping by from Mama Kat’s… that is a really beautiful poem. I agree with a previous commenter that you should frame that & put it up somewhere special in your house!

    • @ Joanna Thank you so much. It was definitely a lot of fun to do. Makes me feel all warm and creative…lol. Thanks for visiting me here at Green Earth Bazaar. I love reading everyone’s comments. Peace. ;)

    • You’re too kind…I’m blushing now. I think it could be better – but I’m a total perfectionist, and as they say, my own worst critic. Thanks for stopping by. Peace. ;)

    • Thanks so much for your kind words! They make me smile – just like comments do. I did have a lot of fun trying to write this, as well as some of the other writer’s workshops prompts. They really make you think, which is great for improving the old writing skills. Thanks for visiting me here at Green Earth Bazaar – peace. ;)

    • Thank you so much! It always me me a bit nervous to put myself out there. I’m a total perfectionist, and never think anything is ever good enough. Thanks for visiting me. Peace. ;)
