It’s DIY Friday! | DIY Fun for Everyone

Hello awesome readers!  It’s DIY Friday! once again.  This week I give you some more DIY fun, with some interesting, creative, and downright neat DIY projects.  A little DIY fun for the whole family.  Enjoy! ;)

  • How to make a patchwork drawstring bag/hat:  This is a great project for all the sewers out there, and seems simple enough for someone who is just starting out – I think a teen would love this project.  I love the fact that it has more than one purpose to it – it’s both a bag and a hat – that’s totally cool!
  • Made with love:  egg cup planters:  This is a really neat project, very simple too.  It’s great for bringing a little nature into your home, and keeping it chic and fabulous at the same time.  Plus it’s good for your home environment to have plants surrounding you – think of all that lovely oxygen being added to the air.  I think I’m going to give this one a try – it’s too cute.  I’ve done something similar in the past  using a plant and a soup bowl/cup, and always loved it (until my plant died on me… but that’s another story).
  • Pipe Cleaner Bugs:  This is a cute project for the kiddos in your life, and it’s pretty inexpensive too.  This project is geared toward kids ages 7 and up, but you could make some and decorate a child’s room with them, as long as they’re out of reach of kids too small to handle them.   I don’t know about your kids, but my kids love making things with pipe cleaners.  They can spend hours bending those fuzzy things into interesting shapes.

Be sure to check back again next Friday for some more DIY project fun! ;)

  1. Oh my – those egg cup planters are just about the sweetest things. I have a couple handed down to me from my grandmother that I don’t get to enjoy too much (not much time for soft boiled eggs these days), but this project is perfect.

Thanks! Wish me luck – indoor plants and I have a tendency to clash.

  2. Hi,
I’m visiting from 31DBBB I wanted to second your emotion about finding great blogs through comments. It’s a wonderful way to interact with people. I installed commentluv 2 days ago and already I’m clicking on other blogs b/c of those links. It’s just as much a tool for others to see what you post about as it is for me to connect with other bloggers. Thanks so much for your great insight.

  4. I love all of these projects! The egg cup idea makes me want to run out to our local antique mall and start hunting for egg cups! And the bugs, oh my, too cute! I am a sucker for pipe cleaners anyway.

    • Thanks for visiting Judy, and for taking the time to leave a comment. I’m so glad you like the projects. I just love DIY – it’s fun, relaxing (for me anyway), and more often than not, a money saver. I’d love to know your project turns out! Peace. ;)
