I have Fibromyalgia. I’ve lived with it for nearly fifteen years (more if I include all of the years my condition went undiagnosed) . Much of that time has been spent in doctors offices or in bed, taking one useless prescription medication after the other.
Instead of socializing, and enjoying the little things that make life sweet – playing with your kids, taking walks, or having picnics in the park – I’ve had to deal with chronic pain, migraines, constant fatigue, crying jags, nearly constant invisible flu-like symptoms, and a hormonal roller coaster that would make even the most seasoned amusement park goer squeamish.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. I feel this is my lot in life – the way I was meant to be – and therefore I’m happy with it, glad for it in a sense. It’s not been an easy thing to live with, but I do the best I can. Patience through adversity is a difficult thing, but I believe it will be rewarded for in the end.
Fibromyalgia has defined who I am for far too long, but I came to the realization a little more than a year ago that that needed to stop. I needed to start living my life with Fibromyalgia, instead of Fibromyalgia living life with me. It’s not been easy. I’m still very sick, but my perception of my illness has change dramatically. Of course I’ve made some serious lifestyle changes along the way too, but trying to change my perspective has been a very positive thing.
I thought I would share this very humorous post from Fibro World. It really hits the nail on the head for those of us who deal with this condition. Check it out.
You Know You Have Fibromyalgia When…
This is the first time I’ve posted anything about living with Fibromyalgia, and may post more about it in the future. If I can help others through my experiences, then I’m all for it.
What about you? Do you or a loved one live with Fibromyalgia? Does Fibromyalgia define you?

My mum and I want to develop a blogging site similar to this for our internet site, I stumbled across your web blog hoping to get some ideas on the theme and page layout. I am taking some html coding class while attending college and not confident that I would have the ability to create a blog such as this one at this time. Did you code this site all by yourself or retain the services of a qualified?
Hi Alleen! Thanks for your comment.
I’m learning about coding, layout, and design myself in my spare time (if I’m lucky enough to get some as a busy mom). It’s a goal of mine to be able to design my website from scratch.
As for this site, I did the layout myself using Arras Theme (I really don’t know much of anything when it comes to coding). I found a background I liked, and designed a custom header using Picnik photo editing software and Artweaver. All of those are completely free of charge.
By the way, I recommend checking out WordPress.org to get a look at the many free themes they have available – Arras Theme is one of them.
I’m sure you can design a lovely site by yourself, very inexpensively if not free as I did, without having to pay someone to do it.
Thank for the visit, and for the inquiry. I’m very glad you liked my design enough to ask about it. Thanks!!!
